Watoto Wa Baraka means ‘Children of Blessing’ in Swahili
Watoto Wa Baraka (WWB) is a registered non-profit organisation providing support for orphans and rural communities in Kenya.
Our mission is to give the real hope to as many needy children as possible and to work with small communities to provide the support and education needed to overcome the burden of poverty.
Welcome letter from the director:
“Hello Everyone!
I would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank you for visiting this site, and welcome you to Watoto Wa Baraka organisation. Here we strive to help as many as possible needy children, youth and afflicted adult to become self reliant, competent, and responsible adults. As successful and experienced sponsored child myself, I was touched by the plight of orphans and street children while growing up, and wanted to launch a project that would benefit other disadvantaged children. I began the organization by picking up two malnourished street children one night, from a public park in Nairobi, and proceeded to drive them to a country village, and placed them in a home with appointed guardians to live with. I then proceeded to make regular visits and follow ups. The boy, Isaa, was accepted into the nearby primary school, and now hopes to become a doctor when he grows up. The girl, Msoo, joined a local hairdressing course in order to financially support both herself and family one day! These two children were the foundation for Watoto Wa Baraka. Throughout my life, I have seen many children fall victim to the overwhelming throngs of poverty, drugs, and prostitution. I feel it is the responsibility of you and I to contribute what we can to prevent this, and to make our world a safer place for all to live and thrive in. Please feel free to contact me anytime at info@africanorphanage.org, incase you have a question or comment about our work. We genuinely look forward to having you return to this site, and to working with us towards changing many lives.
Sincerely,
Geoffrey Watoto
